GDK, Microsoft and Wriggle organised a most memorable event in Castle knock college on 18 Jan 2015
where over 98 teachers and advisors from various schools throughout Ireland.
"Teaching with Technology" was the theme and the following was demonstrated and discussed:

  • Office 365 – The Building Blocks
  • How Office 365 is used in the classroom by students in Claregalway College
  • Insight into the Microsoft Surface Suite presented by a Maths Teacher fom St. Joseph’s Rockfordbridge
  • How Schoology is used in schools
  • Demonstrations of IT networks, Security, Wireless systems

Some teachers may downplay the importance of computers in the classroom, but it is undoubtedly the way of the future. From a recent student event in Dublin, students want to utilise computers and devices more in the classroom.
They want:
   -   to use Tablets to learn
   -   to use Skype or Lync to talk to students in other countries and find out about other cultures
   -   to use Google Earth to learn more about history and geography
   -   electrical sockets, plenty of them, to plug in computers and recharge mobile devices.
